Azor Van Hoose Jr.

Azor Warner VanHoose, College President, was born at Griffin, Georgia, Oct 18, 1860. He was the son of Azor and Missouri Frances (Daniel) VanHoose. He received his A.B. Degree from the University of Georgia, his L.L.D. Degree from Mercer University, Georgia, in 1911. 

He married to Lucy E.  Rucker, Aug 11, 1887. He was Professor of Mathematics and Latin at Howard College, Marion Alabama, 1883-1884. 

He was Adjunct Professor of the same university of Georgia 1884-1885, Associate President and later President, 1886-1909, of Brenau College at Gainesville, Georgia. 

He was President of Shorter College, Rome, Georgia, 1910. He was a Democrat, Baptist and Mason. Mr. VanHoose died December 11, 1921 at his home in Rome, Georgia.
